4 Indians Are On The Forbes List Of World’s 100 Most Powerful Women 2018!

One of the world’s finest global media company, Forbes has marked a unique legacy of pride across the globe. In 2018, when Forbes ranked 100 most powerful women across the world, the presence of four Indian women amidst others inspired the entire nation.

The four women who were enlisted, are celebrated for their refined excellence and charismatic strength to change the world with their powerful voice. – Famous Hollywood and Bollywood actor, Priyanka Chopra, CEO (HCL) Roshni Nadar Malhotra, Chairperson (HT Media), Shobhana Bhartia and Entrepreneur, Kiran Mazumdar- Shaw.

We have consistently heard of Indian women topping the list of the world’s largest honourable platforms but did you know that these four Indian women who were listed in the Forbes list have made it to the platform all by themselves? Listed as the 60th most powerful women across the globe by Forbes, Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw is the Founder and Chairperson of Biocon. Her concept to create an affordable innovation in medicine and drugs to help the masses combat some life-taking conditions have saved many lives.


Kiran has successfully participated in several philanthropist activities in health sectors, infrastructure, and even education.

With an array of honourable awards including Othmer Gold Medal for remarkable contributions in the progressive development of Science and Chemistry, Economic Times Award for the Businesswomen of the year, Kiran has been revolutionizing the realm of medicine and drugs with her benevolent understanding.

2.     Vanguard of the HCL Enterprise

Roshni Nadar Malhotra, the Executive Director and CEO of HCL Enterprises, operates infosystems, technology, and even healthcare. The 38-year-old is one of the youngest women in the Forbes list of 2018 who is focusing on changing the structure of the world with her determined actions.


Ranked 51st on the list, Roshni is majorly known for her inspiring contributions as the trustee of the Shiv Nadar Foundation which concentrates on empowering education and establishing innumerable schools and colleges to galvanize the power of education in the country. Her contributions in all these sectors have successfully served the purpose. 

Previously, Malhotra has also been honoured as the NDTV Young Philanthropist of the year in 2014 and Vogue Indian philanthropist of the year in 2017.

3.     One-woman army at HT Media

Swarmed with numerous honours and felicitations, Shobhana Bhartia had to be on the Forbes list of the most powerful women across the world. The Chairperson and Editorial Director of Hindustan Times Group, Shobhana has successfully risen 4 Billion through a public equity launch of HT media. Her exceptional leadership skills and journalistic strength have together outshined her in the media sector.


Shobhana, listed on the 88th position, has also actively contributed to the political industry by introducing Child Marriage (Abolition) and Miscellaneous Provision Bill in 2006. She has also been included in the list of India’s richest people with a net worth of Rs 380 Million in 2013.

4.     The ‘Hollywood’ in the Bollywood

Priyanka Chopra is a leading actress in both Hollywood and Bollywood. The 37-year-old actress has consistently sparked a fire in the world with her charismatic aura and fearless attitude to serve the world.

Ranked as the 94th most powerful woman in the Forbes list, Priyanka has contributed to several sectors concerning women across the globe. She became the Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF and UN Foundation Girl Up Champion alongside launching her own foundation for healthcare and education.

As a philanthropist, Priyanka also promotes women’s rights and gender equality in all aspects.
