BOOST Metabolism refers to the chemical reactions in your body that produces energy and burns calories. Biologically, the definition of metabolism is the whole range of biochemical processes that occur within a living organism. Metabolism BOOST consists of anabolism (the buildup of substances) and catabolism (the breakdown of substances). The BOOST term metabolism is commonly used to refer specifically to the breakdown of food and its transformation into energy.

“It is the process by which the body converts food and drink into energy,” says Dr. Vishakha Shivdasani, Mumbai-based medical BOOST doctor.
Although it basically BOOST means the same thing, Ayurveda defines metabolism as “Everything related to metabolism revolves around the concept of Agni.”
According to Dr. Abhijit Jinde, who is an Ayurvedic doctor in Pune, “All the BOOST secretions, enzymes and acids from BOOST your stomach, liver and pancreas in totality are described as Agni.”

Regardless of that path of medicine one follows, all doctors agree that BOOST higher metabolism provides more energy to the being, utilizes maximum nutrients, and prevents the deposition of unused calories in unwanted places. A good metabolism though, cannot be developed within a
day, the incorporation of good habits in a lifestyle can eventually BOOST develop a good metabolism.
Traditional Method
According to Ayurveda, the reason for poor metabolism can be pinpointed to BOOST bad eating habits and lifestyle. Dr. Jinde explains that our metabolic should be literally compared to a fire.
Adding logs I like food. If some logs are added the fire keeps burning well but a huge log can smother out the fire. Perfect sleep routine and eating habits are absolute necessities for good metabolism.
Things to avoid
Frequent naps can extinguish the fire by increasing circulation of toxins in us.
Frequent snacks can lead to a shortage of fire. It’s like tiny logs put in fire regularly that doesn’t completely extinguish the fore but reduces its efficiency.
Avoid cold water and prefer lukewarm water for BOOST drinking and bathing. This is to ensure that the fire isn’t extinguished by the cold water.
Avoiding dessert at the end of a meal because sugar is highest in flavor and could be considered as the final big log that could extinguish the fire

Avoid stress and negativity.
Eating while distracted or involving oneself into the meal BOOST altogether.
Things to incorporate into meals. According to Dr. Jinde, trick to gain higher metabolism is “ a pea-sized ball of fresh, grated ginger with a pinch or two of Himalayan salt consumed five
minutes before meals will ignite the fire.” This is to make sure appetite is increased especially in people who don’t have an appetite.
Secondly, he said, “The common principle is that BOOST the six tastes (sweet, sour, salty, bitter, pungent, astringent) must be present in food.” A sure way to ensure the fire of metabolism is burning is to make sure all the elements are in the food. Adding additional items like pickle
can provide the salty or sour kick needed to balance all the elements. According to him, in order to digest protein and carbs you need perfect flame of metabolic fire.

Modern Method
“When you really break it down you’ll find that at the root of it, BOOST inflammation is a sign of good or bad metabolic health. Inflammation could manifest as weight gain, an autoimmune condition like rheumatoid arthritis or psoriasis, bad sleep, or poor gut health.”
– Dr. Shivdasani
Hence, anything that causes inflammation must be avoided.
Things to avoid
Poor sleep- Level of cortisol in the body could increase BOOST from lack of sleep which is harmful
for growth hormones.

Poor diet- Processed food, refined vegetable oil, carbs, BOOST fried or canned food must be avoided. She also adds that lack of excess protein is also harmful. The correct amount is 0.6-0.8 kilos of lean body mass.
Poor activity- Muscles increases resting metabolism rate and is good for the body. Hence one must do enough activity. Lifting heavy objects or standing more than sitting are ways to increase metabolism.
Things to incorporate in your lifestyle

Green or Oolong tea- Green tea is an anti-inflammatory.
Good oils- Nuts, seed, oily fish, avocado, olives contain good day that Dr. Shivdasani advises
her patients to consume.

Pranayama and Meditation- Dr. Shivdasani says, “It helps you move into a parasympathetic
mode that gives you a rush of happy hormones.” It helps in prevention of inflammation and
affects metabolism positively.
Metabolism is an essential step in gaining the right body balance and optimum use of our
consumption and must be taken seriously for a healthy, hearty life.
