On Wednesday, April 29th, Irrfan Khan breathed his last at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai, where he had been admitted on Monday due to a colon infection. Irrfan Khan was one of the most widely-beloved and well-respected actors in the country, who won the hearts of audiences and critics alike with his stellar performances on the silver screen and his friendly and down-to-earth demeanor in real life.

In 2018, Irrfan had been diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumor for which he traveled to London for treatment. Despite that, he starred in Angrezi Medium, Irrfan shot less than a year after his diagnosis. Perhaps the most tragic thing about Irrfan’s final days is the fact that he missed his mother’s funeral due to the COVID lockdown, merely 3 days before his own demise. Social media has been flooded by tributes and eulogies to the star, as the nation rushes to pay its respects to one of the best actors in history.
