Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson to donate blood for COVID-19 Vaccine

Wilson The Cast Away actor, Tom Hanks with his wife Rita Wilson has decided to donate blood to develop the COVID-19 Vaccine to treat patients at the earliest. Recently, the actor was tested positive for Coronavirus but recovered from the illness soon after. After a full recovery, he returned to Los Angeles from Australia.

Tom is preparing Wilson for ‘Hank-ccine’

Here’s what the actor had to say about his initiative:

“We have not only been approached, we have said, ‘Do you want our blood? Can we give plasma?’ And, in fact, we will be giving it now to the places that hope to work on what I would like to call the Hank-ccine.”

He further added to describe his experiences better:“ Rita went through a tougher time than I did,” he said. “She had a much higher fever. She had lost her sense Wilson of taste and sense of smell. She got absolutely no joy from food for a better part of three weeks.”

Aside from Tom Hanks, even his wife, Rita came forward to share news about the same.

“Well, Wilson that’s what they told us and that’s what the belief is,” Wilson stated. “We recently have been part of a study Wilson where we’ve donated our blood, and we’re waiting to hear back if our antibodies will be helpful in developing a vaccine, but also if we are able to donate plasma that can be used as donation to other people who are suffering from the virus because we are immune.”

While doctors are putting their best foot forward to develop a vaccine, it is important to stay alert and maintain a healthy lifestyle to stay safe. Make sure to stay home as far as possible to avoid any complications. Remember, at this time, the only way you can contribute for the eradication of this pandemic is by staying home.
