DECADE While to some, success comes easily, that is not the case for all. From Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Gajraj Rao to Pankaj Tripathi, their journey to success hasn’t been easy. Another such actor is Jaideep DECADE Ahlawat who very recently came up trumps after 10 years of groveling in the industry. After bagging the lead role in Amazon Prime’s Patal Lok, and on playing it DECADE flawlessly, Ahlawat has gained enormous praise and appreciation from the audience.
Born on 8th February, 1980 in a Jat family in Haryana, Jaideep debuted in Bollywood in 2010. His first appearance was in an action thriller, Aakrosh by Priyadarshan.
Since then Ahlawat has appeared in many movies but had not gained enough appreciation from masses. He had appeared in movies like Khatta Meetha by Akshay Kumar, as AK 74 in Commando, Khalid Mir in Raazi, and even DECADE Raees. His face is also familiar in web series like Bard of Blood, by Emraan Hashmi and Lust Stories where he plays the role of Sudhir opposite Manisha Koirala’s character, Reena. Even though he didn’t hit jackpot, he was much appreciated in Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur where he played the role of Shahid Khan, the patriarch of a family on whom the storyline was focused on.
Directed by Avinash Arun and Prosit Roy, Patal Lok was first streamed in Amazon Prime on 15th May 2020 and immediately grabbed the attention of the audience with its catchy storyline and unbelievable acting.
Jaideep played the role of Inspector Hathiram Chaudhary. He is a skeptical police officer who has been handed an important cause of a missed assassination that he must investigate. The series has been produced by Anushka Sharma’s production house, Clean Slate Films. The series has finally fetched Jaideep Ahlawat his due fame and appreciation. The series itself is very appealing with it’s intricate, layered implications and complex emotions. It portrays the three “loks” and highlights how they are blended together around the edges and not really stark different. The audience is awed by the accuracy by which our nation’s issues have been portrayed in the series. Subtle yet deep like paper cuts, every little dialogue pushes us to reflect upon it and fearlessly throws light upon reality.
After a long struggle for a decade Jaideep Ahlawat has finally stumbled upon his luck and we cannot be happier for him. He has proved to be another such brilliant actor whole success is owed to strictly devoted handwork and resilience.
