In the highly anticipated match of Parc des Princes, Paris Saint-Germain ousted Montpellier with a 5-0. The victory has put PSG at rank one with 13 points in the League 1 rankings of the series. With the win bringing in a sum total of 55 points from just 22 games, it would be tough to stop PSG from staying at the top!
An eventful match to talk about
It was a game where four-star players, Pablo Sarabia, Ángel Di Maria, Mbappé and Layvin Kurzawa took PSG to the victory stand. Pablo Sarabia had a tremendous start to the match, scoring a goal within just 5 mins of the match. However, the referee called the goal offside and cancelled it.
This was just the start for PSG. The next 2 minutes and Sarabia was back to work again, opening the scoring for his team.
The first half itself was a handful to follow: A score of 3-0 in favour of PSG, Neymar injured and Montpellier Goalkeeper Dimitri Bertaud making his exit.
The end was near
Montpellier struggled to keep up in the first half and the second half wasn’t in their hands either. Mbappe made his 36th goal against Montpellier in this 34th match between the two teams and Layvin Kurzawa iced the cake with another brilliant shot.
PSG even brought-in two favourites as substitutes, Mauro Icardi and Edinson Cavani during the match. Infact, Cavani scored a goal as well, which was once again ruled out by the referee.
Two cancelled goals and still a five-point victory, Paris Saint-Germain showed extraordinary spirit and ferocious energy to grab this win.
Neymar has always supported his team, acting as the right guide and making the right passes. The Brazilian and his team would now face Nantes in their next match.
