Ajay Jethi is an Indian actor based in Barcelona who comes from Punjab. Regarding his role of a Pakistani hacker Shakir who helps in guiding the Professor’s team in a very difficult mission, in the fourth season of the popular web show “The Money Heist” or “La Casa De Papel” he said, “my role in the popular online show Money Heist is a small character, but I didn’t expect to get this much love.”
Ajay further added, “I never thought I would become world-famous. I have been getting calls from back home, Canada, and even from Pakistan. Punjabis are proud of me because they feel I am one of them. Pakistanis were proud because my character helps the Professor”.
AJAY JETHI is also a distributor of Hindi and Punjabi movies in Portugal and Spain. In 2005, he came to Spain on a work visa and did labor in the construction areas. He’s keen on exploring Bollywood and has worked in a few Punjabi films. “I have been distributing Punjabi films for the past couple of years. My first Hindi film was Kesari Bharat, War and Dabangg 3”, he says. He also expressed his desire of being a part of movies like Pink (2016), Angrezi Medium (2020), and Andhadhun (2018).
On the question of how he got the role, ajay Jethi replied that ajay had earlier collaborated with the creator Alex Pina. ajayalso said that he hasn’t watched the series yet because he doesn’t have a TV and he wasn’t aware that the Spanish show would be available with English subtitles. He also added that he has added the app on his phone and plans on seeing it soon.
Ajay, “The production house and casting directors were familiar with my work. So, they didn’t ask me to audition for the role. When I got a call from my manager, I thought it was like any other project for me. I shot for my portions alone, and didn’t get a chance to meet the rest of the cast”, he expresses.
