After a long and arduous battle with cancer, national icon Rishi Kapoor passed away this morning, at age 67. By all accounts, cancer had no impact on Rishi’s jovial personality and sharp sense of humour, as he kept his doctors and nurses entertained with jokes and one-liners. The demise of the Bobby-star comes in as the second big loss to the film fraternity in recent memory, with the passing of Irrfan Khan being the most major news to come out yesterday, also linked to cancer complications. Still, cancer did not affect Rishi’s love for his industry, and he was meant to star in a Bollywood remake of The Intern opposite Deepika Padukone. The Kapoor clan is in mourning, as is the rest of the nation who are posting heartfelt tributes to Mr Kapoor online.
