Is she truly ‘Self-made’?

No wonder Kylie is hardworking. With her cosmetics empire – Kylie Skin and Kylie Cosmetics, her business expanded, thanks to her brilliant social media base. There was quite a debate when she was awarded the title ‘self-made’ by Forbes last year. Since she was brought up in a rich and influential family, many felt that the title was quite puzzling.

Despite coming from a good background, Kylie Jenner wasn’t gifted her business and wealth and hence, the title fits right. She even opens up quite modestly saying that she couldn’t have reached the heights all by herself. Though she hasn’t inherited any money, she had a lot of help and a huge platform.

  • At 21, celebrity-turned-makeup mogul Kylie Jenner became the youngest self-made billionaire ever.
  • In November 2019, she agreed to sell 51% of her Kylie Cosmetics to beauty giant Coty Inc. for $600 million.
  • The deal, which closed in January 2020, leaves Kylie in charge of creative efforts and marketing.
  • She still owns 49% of the business, which she and her mother Kris Jenner grew through shrewd self-promotion and super low overhead costs.
  • Jenner used $250,000 of her earnings from modelling gigs to pay an outside company to produce her first 15,000 lip kits.

Was this the best time to publish the list?
