Drone strike by the US took place in which Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani was killed in Iraq. It was a matter of triumph for Trump for only for moments as Iranians started showing their outrage against the incident. A drone strike killed Soleimani and an Iraqi militia leader, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis. Just after the day of the strike, the American embassy had been targeted by followers of both in Baghdad.
Not Iraq is happy as more than ten thousand people marched to mourn their encounters. There are still no signs shown by Iraq to ease the tension between the two nations, thus, Trump has to take the platform of Twitter to pass a threat against people who are mourning on deaths of terrorists. The results of the strike can even make ways to more conflicts.
People who were mourning for their deaths were not only netizens but also the militiamen of Iraq. The hatred for the US shows their love for Soleimani and Muhandis. They also chanted “Death to America” and “No No Israel” for their heroes.
The bodies of both the leaders have been taken to holy places for their last rites. One of the followers of Muhandis said, “ the price for your Nobel blood is American forces leaving Iraq forever and achieving total national sovereignty”.
The US has been an ally to the Iraq government since 2003, but it seems as if Iran and Iraq are closer to each other. Donald J. Trump wrote on Twitter, “Iran is talking very boldly about targeting certain USA assets as revenge for our ridding the world of their terrorist leader who had just killed an American & badly wounded many others…”. He also has mentioned that they have targeted 52 Iranian sites that are very important to Iran, they will be “ HIT VERY FAST AND VERY HARD. The USA wants no more threats.”
Whereas, the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran raised the Red Flag over the dome of Jamkaran Mosque in Qom city of Iran. The red flag is the symbol of war that is either to come or on its way.
