Gulabo Sitabo, On Thursday, director Shoojit Sircar, accompanied by actors Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana betrothed over a video conference promulgate the trailer of their film Gulabo Sitabo which will release on upcoming Friday, June 12 on Amazon Prime. Amid lockdown due to the Covid-19 outbreak movie couldn’t have an orthodox release in a multiplex as having the uncertainty of reopening of cinema halls.
An offbeat subject portrayed in a comical way Gulabo Sitabo’s trailer manifest Bachchan as Mirza, a 78-year-old very strict authoritarian who can make everything shattered for his most prized possession an elderly mansion in the heart of Lucknow and here’s to make him harsher Aayushman Khurrana enters a Baankey sharp-witted and cunning tenant who matches Mirza bit for bit in their never-ending battering. The film also stars Vijay Raaz, who enacts an archaeologist in archaeology department officials, making an uninterruptible huddle in Mirza’s quest to sell his mansion.
Sharing the trailer Aayusmann mentioned, “ kaun kitna shatir hai yeh aap kal hi dekhiyega! ” And ahead of the trailer release Amitabh Bachchan took his social media handle to share a post and wrote, “ a gaaya … aaa gaayaaa … coming coming coming .. !! Trailer RELEASE at 4 Pm TODAY .. !!! Mirza bas heads up dena caahta hai! Ready ho na ?”. While Ayushmann wrote, “ Hoshiyari aur chaalaki ki ek priceless jodi trailer out soon.” As both are very much excited and into this movie.
Gulabo Sitabo director Shoojit Sircar previously mentioned in PTI that Ayushmann is a family member and Mr. Bachchan has become a very close friend, we understand each other very well. Our camaraderie is excellent in his job on sets which makes it most important making us whooping and enjoy the process and course of action, Also Ayushmann mentioned in an interview with PTI about the story of Gulabo Sitabo sharing about the experience while shooting which was simple, memorable and full of enjoyment.
From dialogue to the intonation of actors including attire and backdrop of Lucknow makes it feel realistic and relatable enough. Shoojit marks a reunion with Mr. Bachchan after Piku in 2015 and Pink in 2016, as well as with Ayushmann after his debut movie which was a romantic comedy Vicky donor in 2010.
Gulabo Sitabo will premiere on Amazon prime video on June 12, 2020 in more than 200 countries and territories.
