As the lockdown 4.0 is going to have some relaxations the Goan industry is fully set to get back to work by the end of June. Due to the lockdown that has started from the 25th of March it has already been 2 months and there are no works and hence the people involved are experiencing financial crises now. The producers and directors haven’t received the permission yet they are looking forward to getting the Goan line of industry on track. Since the production work weather plays a very important role and these were the last months before the rainy season for shooting. And hence the people working in these fields are very much concerned.
Many of the pre-planned shoots from March, April also got canceled due to the lockdown. The producers and the directors are deciding to shoot short videos, Ad films, and some series with the people of Goa only so that they can face this financial crunch. Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan launched by the center on May 12th has given a spark to the Goan industry and the industry is trying to make the state Atmanirbhar (self-dependent) by hiring the people from the own state for the shooting. Sandeep Kotecha, president of Goa line producers association says ‘ The government shall permit us to shoot web series and Ad films within Goa and with the Goan artists. We shall follow all the safety measures while shooting. ’Movies haven’t been planned yet as it needs a lot of people and people cannot travel due to the pandemic and also gathering will lead to the worsening of the situation. People have been developing various artistic skills due to the lockdown and hence there are ample amounts of artists for the Goan industry within Goa and the producers are willing to work with such rising artists. So far Goa has been one of the states with least cases of corona (17cases) and 0 deaths.
