First Hindu Pilot Recruited to Pakistan Air Force

Hailing from Sindh in Pakistan, Rahul Dev Bheel has become the first Hindu to be recruited into the Pakistan Air Force at the rank of General Duty Pilot Officer. Little is known about him, except for the fact that he belongs to the Hindu-majority remote village of Thaparkar. His age is also unknown, but estimated to be around 20. This comes in as the second progressive step taken in the armed forces during Imran Khan’s tenure as Prime Minister, with Kainat Junaid becoming the first woman from Khyber-Pakthunkhwa province just last year.

First Hindu Pilot Recruited to Pakistan Air Force, this news is being received very well within the country. The All Pakistan Hindu Panchayat Secretary, Ravi Dawani, said, “Many members of the minority community are serving in the civil service as well as the army. Many doctors in the country also belong to the Hindu community. If the government continues to focus on the minorities, then in the coming days many Rahul Devs will be ready to serve the country.” Such progressive news is definitely welcome during this difficult time, and the world hopes for more in the same vein in the future.
